The incident took place on Gorky Street, in the city of Orsk, in Orenburg Oblast, in Russia, on the night of Saturday 18th November.
The unnamed man, reportedly around 20 years old and suspected of being under the influence of drugs, can be seen walking on electric wires above the roofs of buildings in the footage.
A team of police officers and Orsk city rescuers can also be seen on the ground as they gaze up at the man.
The suspect had reportedly climbed onto the ledge of a five-storey building before moving across the electrical lines to a neighbouring two-story building, according to a local report.
A spokesperson for the authorities said they attempted to catch the man on the roofs of four buildings, according to local media.
He said: “When we climbed to the roof of a building and opened the doors, he had already run to another building.
“And so we chased him at three o’clock in the morning, jumping and hopping.”
He was later caught in a house in the area, barefoot, and was taken by ambulance to hospital, where he was reportedly found to be intoxicated with drugs.
The police detained him and are investigating the incident.
