Easy Rider Driving Armchair Busted By Cops

This is the bizarre moment a man rides around town while sitting in an armchair mounted on top of an electric scooter.

The images were filmed in Volgograd, in Russia, on the evening of 30th April, with local media reporting that the 22-year-old man, who has not been named, was later identified and fined RUB 800 (GBP 7).

The footage shows the man going around a corner on a busy street in the heart of the city as motorists honk their horns.

While the car from which the footage is being filmed comes to a stop at some traffic lights, the armchair scooterist whizzes on by.

Newsflash obtained a statement from the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Volgograd Region on Wednesday, 1st May, saying: “Employees of the Volgograd State Traffic Inspectorate brought the electric scooter driver to justice for violating traffic rules.

“On 30th April 2024, while on duty in the Central region of the mountains. In Volgograd, employees of the motor vehicle police department of the city State Traffic Inspectorate identified the driver of an electric scooter who had violated the Traffic Rules.

“A 22-year-old Volgograd resident moved along Lenin Avenue on a personal mobility device, installing upholstered furniture on it.

“The offender was brought to administrative responsibility in accordance with Part 2 of Art. 12.29 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.”
