A beautiful young woman was raped and murdered after she was told to work a night shift at a factory with a convicted murderer who had restarted his life as a family man with a wife and children.
Victim Anastasia Frolova was just 21 years old when she was raped and murdered by the man she was told to work the night shift with at the limestone factory on 27th August.
Anastasia and her killer – later identified as Eduard G. – reportedly worked together at the factory that crushed quarried limestone so it could be prepared for the kilns in Polotnyany Zavod, an urban settlement in the Kaluga region, in western Russia.
Eduard allegedly showed interest in the victim for a period of time but kept getting refused. On the night of the murder, Eduard forced himself on the young girl and violently raped her before he slit her throat.
Her lifeless body was found the next morning by horrified coworkers.
Eduard reportedly attempted to flee towards Moscow – Russia’s capital – but was tracked down by police two days later and arrested.
The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kaluga region said: “During witness interviews and the examination of surveillance camera footage, investigators confirmed the suspect’s identity.”
Investigators learned Eduard had already spent time behind bars for a previous murder and was released just two years ago after serving a 12-year sentence.
It is understood that he had a family and underage children whom he often shared images with on social media.
Parents whose children attend school with Eduard’s daughter remember that he behaved as normal as can be.
They said they did not know much about him and were shocked by the news of the murder.
Anastasia was laid to rest at a local cemetery on 31st August.
The Investigative Committee of Russia for the Kaluga region said: “Investigators intend to petition the court for him to be remanded in custody as a preventive measure.
“The collection of evidence continues in the criminal case, and the circumstances of the incident are being established.”
