This is the moment rescuers cut through ice with chainsaws to free a woman’s car because her navigation system sent her the wrong way and the vehicle fell through it.
They first had to smash her windscreen to get her out of the vehicle.
The incident took place near a shore on a street in the city of Novosibirsk, in the district of Shlyuz, in Russia, at around 10 pm on 22nd November.
In the first piece of footage, two rescuers can be seen cutting through the ice with chainsaws to free the car which can be seen partially submerged in the freezing water.
The trapped car can be seen being removed from the ice with the windscreen already broken in another piece of footage.
The windscreen was reportedly broken to free the unnamed 45-year-old Siberian woman who reportedly works for a courier service.
She was delivering a package when she drove the white Suzuki car down a descent and into the ice near the shore after she got lost due to her navigation system, according to reports.
She had confused the slope into the water for a road while following directions from her nav system, according to reports.
Eyewitnesses tried rescuing her but could not because of the reportedly over 100 kilogrammes of items she carried in the vehicle, so they called the emergency services.
Ministry of Emergency Situations rescuers, medics and ambulances rushed to the scene, according to reports.
They rescued her first and then the car.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations said the woman was not injured.
