An 11-year-old girl died when her iPad reportedly exploded in her hands while she was playing a game on it as it charged.

The girl had been using the device while it was charging at her home in the village of Pavlovka, in the Bohodukhiv district of the Kharkiv region of eastern Ukraine, according to the Kharkiv police and the Ukrainian News Agency, among others.
But she reportedly received a massive electric shock when the Apple tablet exploded while she was holding it.
Newsflash obtained a statement from the Kharkiv police dated 8th August saying: “Police are investigating the circumstances of the death of a minor girl in the Bohodukhiv district.
“The child was holding a tablet that exploded in her hands. Preliminarily, she sustained life-incompatible injuries due to electric shock.
“On August 7, around 01:05, the police received a report that an 11-year-old girl had died in the village of Pavlivka in the Bohodukhiv district.
“The child was playing on a tablet at home when the device exploded in her hands, resulting in her death.”
The statement continued: “A forensic-operational group from the Bohodukhiv district police department was dispatched to the address.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that the girl received a fatal injury from electric shock while using the tablet, which was charging at the time.
“The body has been sent to the morgue to determine the cause of death.
“Police personnel have collected material evidence from the scene.
“All circumstances of the incident are being established.”
Both Ukrainian and Russian media have reported that the device was an Apple iPad, although the exact model had not been specified at the time of writing.
